I've managed to organise enough time this week to go away for 3 days. Since starting this brand I can't recall any time spent on an extended break besides from a day off here or there.
Although this will be far from a break I'm excited to work away from the distraction of tedious tasks. I'll be using these few days to design everything up until winter next year.
Keen to immerse myself in the ideas and get into a rhythm, I recall being a teenager not being able to sleep due to being drowned in creative thought. Many of the ideas of what I originally thought Milkbar would be came from a lot of those night sessions, not bound by caring to be up early, using my time in class at school to catch up on sleep.
Growing up I would watch a lot of documentaries and behind the scenes on the making of famous albums, how they would navigate there studio time, how the location of the studio influenced their process. Honestly it all sounds really romantic but maybe I found out it's no different to working at home, interested to start to play around with the process.
While Summer and Autumn are pretty locked in already please feel free to let me know what you'd like to see in the next 12 months of design from Milkbar.
