How to get Added Wear out of your Outerwear

How to get Added Wear out of your Outerwear

When I was younger I remember only have enough courage to wear my jackets with a neutral colour underneath showing between the open zip. I recall the first time I put a Green T-Shirt under my Grey Zip Up Hoodie, it felt uncomfortable progressing into a new phase of fashion.

Now I love playing around with combinations. Recently I found a Vintage Dior Jacket in Navy which I've been pairing with my yellow or red polos, light blue shirt or all my T-Shirts. Years ago I would have literally only had the courage to wear it with a White T-Shirt beneath.

It made me think of how many ways you can multiply your uses of a jacket. They are often expensive and so they should be. Hopefully some ideas and colour palette's below bring new life to your garments!

- Neutral with a pop of colour (Navy with Yellow, Cream with Red, Brown with Orange)

- Play with the Collar (Try popping the collar and adding a scarf)

- Multiple layers of Neutrals and Colours (Navy, Grey and Green)

- Switch bottom layer between T-Shirts, Shirting, Polos and Henlys (Even Singlets to get more use in the summer)

- Use Striped/Patterned Garments Underneath

- Educate yourself on the Colour Wheel and different Colour Combinations

You'd be surprised, some of these tricks can help you get 5x more outfits out of one of your jackets! Have a crack at it and see how you go.
